City staff recommend the City Council approve the hiring of five Full-Time Firefighters.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
City staff are requesting the City Council approve the hiring of five Full-Time Firefighter positions. This position was
authorized for recruitment on February 9, 2026, City Council meeting.
The 2026 General Fund Budget includes the hiring of six Full-Time Firefighters during 2026. In June 2026, the City
Council approved the hiring of one Full-Time Firefighter, with the remaining five positions being a part of this
recruitment.
After a competitive pool of applicants, City staff are recommending the hiring of Nick Anderson, Gordon Myette,
Bailey Jones, Olivia McCall and Jesse Anderson for the positions of Full-Time Firefighter. The five individuals are
anticipated to start employment on November 9. These individuals have successfully completed all pre-employment
screenings, which include an interview, medical evaluation, drug screen, background check, and psychological
evaluation.
