AGENDA ITEM DETAILS RECOMMENDATION: City staff is recommending the City Council adopt a resolution declaring surplus property and authorizing sale of property. ARE YOU SEEKING APPROVAL OF A CONTRACT? IS A PUBLIC HEARING REQUIRED? No No BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION: City staff annually evaluate City vehicles and equipment to determine whether they remain necessary for City operations. Factors considered include current vehicle inventory, frequency of use, equipment condition, and increasing maintenance or repair costs. As part of the 2026 evaluation of all maintenance department vehicles and equipment, PW #7 a 2012 F-350 with plow was identified as no longer needed for City operations and is currently being held in the reserve fleet. Staff recommend that PW #7 be declared surplus and sold to the City of Hanover. The City of Hanover approached City staff regarding its need for a maintenance vehicle. Following a site visit, Hanover staff identified PW #7 as viable vehicle. Otsego City staff obtained a valuation from Cornerstone Ford of Elk River and determined that $11,000 represents a fair market value for the vehicle and plow. Pending City Council's declaration of PW #7 as surplus and execution of a sales agreement between the City of Otsego and City of Hanover for $11,000, the vehicle and plow will be released to the City of Hanover.
