RE: Removal of Parks and Recreation Commissioner
Background Information
Removal of Parks and Recreation Commissioner due to consecutive absences
Norman Witteborg has not attended a regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation
Commission since March of 2024. City Staff have tried various avenues and exhausted
all attempts to make contact. Due to the lack of response, the Parks and Recreation
Commission may by City Code 2-3-3, recommend Commissioner Witteborg be removed
due to missing more than three consecutive meetings in a calendar year.
Requested Commission Action
Staff requests the Parks and Recreation Commission review City Code 2-3-3 stating a
commissioner may be removed for having missed more than 3 consecutive regular
meetings within a calendar year.
Possible recommendation:
• To recommend the City Council remove Norman Witteborg from the Parks and
Recreation Commission and appoint alternate Joe Tyberghein to the vacant seat.
