This letter is to formally appeal the Taxable Market Value (TMV) amount on the 2024 Valuation Notice, 2023 Values for taxes payable in 2024, that I received in the mail. This is the 2023 assessment for taxes payable in 2024. Please include this item on the agenda for the April 24, 2023, Otsego City Hall local board of appeal as I will not be able to attend the meeting. I received a spreadsheet from Michael (Mike) Vanderlinden on April 6, 2023, that lists 3 separate houses with adjustments, two houses being new luxury homes double the size of mine, 6 car garage, and pool. My house is not comparable to any of these houses even with the adjustments in the spreadsheet. (See attachments.) After speaking with Mike on April 10, 2023, he stated that I need to send him an email saying that I would like to appeal. He said that he would bring this appeal in my behalf to the April 24, 2023, Otsego City Hall meeting. I understand that the Sales Study was based on a time period during a world-wide pandemic where people were panicking, escaping urban cities and moving to rural areas which consequently artificially overinflated land and home values. Since then, prices have normalized in the Otsego area. My property is not worth the Taxable Market Value from the 2024 Valuation notice based on the following: -Square footage of house 1940 -Age of house 1994 -2.5 car garage -500 square foot basement (1/2 basement) unfinished -2.5 bath, only 1 shower -Dirt driveway -No updates inside except for painting and replacing broken appliances Sincerely, ( 1 Sharon L.
