City staff recommend City Council approve hiring for a Utility Seasonal Maintenance position.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The Utility Seasonal position is budgeted for 2026. Responsibilities for this role include maintenance activities of
Utility sites and equipment, collection and distribution infrastructure maintenance, equipment operation and
janitorial services. Seasonal positions are not benefited vacation, holiday, health or PERA. Seasonal employees are
eligible for Earned Sick and Safe Time.
Roman Lindenfelser has provided Seasonal assistance since 2023 and is accepting of a 2026 return in May. Staff
recommend $22.00 per hour in line with the returning service levels and the Seasonal, Temporary and Part-Time
Employees Pay Plan.
