2.1 October 14, 2025
Commissioner Kiffmeyer motioned to approve the minutes as written, seconded by Commissioner
Nault. All in favor. Motion carried 3-0.
Old Business:
5.1 Time Capsule Suggestions.
Time capsule has been ordered by Audra. OHPC commissioners suggested the following items be
gathered and will then see what can all fit in the time capsule: penny, Ingersoll brick documentation,
cemetery tour write-up, city map, current population, property tax assessment bill, realtor median
house sale flier, Pokemon card, the 4 copies of the View from 2025, record high and low temp for
Otsego 2025, aerial photos of Otsego, phone and charter. The commissioners also thought it’d be neat
to add the following questions for the recipients in 2075: Have the Vikings won the super bowl yet?
What is the High School Mascot? Are there flying cars yet? Have the robots taken over? Is the Mayor of
Otsego now a robot? The commissioners also discussed adding their predictions of what Otsego will look
like in 2075 - population, how many schools, fire stations, how many more restaurants, etc.
Commissioner Kiffmeyer will gather aerial photos and Cemetery tour and give to Commissioner Nault.
Commissioner Nault will reach out to Mayor Stockamp to inquire about the city donating a phone and
charger. It would also be neat to have the Mayor leave a video message on the phone and also add
photos of Otsego in 2025 in the phone’s camera settings.
CM Lund suggested having a pamphlet on the Otsego fire department and a 3D toy firetruck model to
involve the children in the community on the drawings of the model. Commissioner Nault will reach out
to Hassan Elementary to inquire about a 3D printer and if the school would like to participate.
Commissioner Nault will also reach out to Katie & Audra to gather the four copies of the Otsego View in
2025.
The commissioners agreed to have everything compiled by February for the time capsule and to finalize
and reveal the time capsule entries in March. Commissioner Nault will also reach out to the Mayor on
how big we want the time capsule reveal to be, ie: a ceremony, a virtual video, etc. CM Tanner & Lund
Item 4.1

5.3 Cemetery Tour
The cemetery tour had a very positive response from the community members who participated. A few
suggestions for improvements included adding mic belts to the tour guides due to the traffic noise,
marking the gravestones more clearly for ease of the walking path, having the tour closer to dusk,
adding a portable bathroom for patrons, highlighting the murder and possibly including historical photos
of the home the murders took place in. The commissioners also discussed reaching out to the current
owner’s of the home and see if their daughter would be willing to share her experience at the home. CM
Lund will reach out to the family as she knows them well. Commissioner Kiffmeyer will reach out to
SOAR to see if they would be interested in bringing a little more ‘drama’ to the tour. The commissioners
also discussed playing up the innuendos in the Peavey versus McDonald land situation in a future tour.
Commissioner Penick had emailed a suggestion to add a moment of silence to the patrons who had
passed at the beginning of the tour. Commissioner Kiffmeyer will pick back up on the cemetery tour in
January and February.
5.4 1914 Barn
Commissioners Stinski, Kiffmeyer and Nault decided to table the discussion on the 1914 Barn for the
next meeting.
Updates on City Council actions:
Wednesday, December 3rd, commissioner dinner. November 25th tree lighting.
5. Set next meeting:
March 10, 2026 was previously agreed upon with all the OHPC commissioners as there has been a
winter break the past few years. CM Tanner suggested there was some push back on this and that OHPC
meet back up in January. Commissioner Stinski will reach out to the commissioners about reconvening in
January. Commissioners Stinski, Kiffmeyer and Nault agreed to cancel any meeting in December.
Adjourn:
Commissioner Nault motioned to adjourn the meeting at 8:20 PM, seconded by Commissioner
Kiffmeyer. All in favor. Motion carried 3-0.
Minutes prepared by Commissioner Nault.
