Resolution No:
CONTINUING FIRE SERVICE AGREEMENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Otsego has contracted for fire service with the
surrounding cities for decades; and
WHEREAS, each of these contract partners has delivered high -quality
services marked by professionalism and distinction; and
WHEREAS, our contract providers rely on clear and timely communication
from the City to accurately plan and budget their expected revenues;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Otsego previously communicated to its contract
partners its intent to terminate fire service agreements for the 2027
calendar year; and
WHEREAS, the fire service contract with the City of Elk River requires one
full calendar year of notice prior to cancellation; and
WHEREAS, the fire service contract with the City of Rogers is for a term of
one calendar year at a time; and
WHEREAS, the fire service contract with the City of Albertville has a
determined end -date of December 2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
OTSEGO, MINNESOTA:
1. The City will require contracted fire service from all contract part-
ners during part or all of the 2027 calendar year.
2. The City Administrator and Interim Fire Chief are hereby authorized
and directed to inform the fire service providers of this change and
seek new contract terms with the City of Albertville for fire service.
