City staff recommend City Council approval to close City offices for an employee development and recognition event.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
The City’s Strategic Plan includes a strategic direction to Empower the Organization. Goals within this strategic
direction include: 1) increase staff engagement practices, and 2) develop skills and build team. City staff is
recommending closure of City offices on Tuesday December 16, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 1:00PM to provide this
opportunity for all staff members in one combined session. The employee development and recognition event will
include:
- State of the City Presentations by Each Department
- Review of Community Survey Results
- Employee Years of Service Recognition
- Employee Potluck
