09-09-25 OHPC Meeting MinutesOTSEGO HERITAGE PRESERVATION COMMISSION MEETING Lily Pond Conference Room at City Hall Tuesday, September 9, 2025 6:00 PM Call to Order. This meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM. Roll Call: Chair: Tami Stinski; Commissioners: Jim Penick, Kelly Kiffmeyer, Brooke Nault, and Toni Seroshek, Chris Wilson. City Council: CM Corey Tanner and Michelle Lund. Open forum call: N/A 1.Consider Agenda Approval: Commissioner Nault motioned to approve the agenda as written, seconded by Commissioner Seroshek. All in favor. Motion carried 7-0. 2.Consider the following minutes: 2.1 August 12, 2025 Commissioner Kiffmeyer motioned to approve the minutes as written, seconded by Commissioner Nault. All in favor. Motion carried 7-0. 3.SPHO Conference Commissioner Kiffmeyer can no longer attend SPHO, however Commissioner Stinski confirmed she will be attending. 4.Old business 4.1 Cemetery Tour Commissioner Kiffmeyer confirmed October 30th at 5:30pm did not conflict with any other Otsego activities. She will bring her edits to her original tour notes to the October meeting for OHPC to review. OHPC discussed having a tour trial run in October before the next meeting. Otsego Mayor Jessica Stockamp connected with Commissioner Seroshek about OHPC potentially utilizing SOAR arts group, who act out fun facts and stories, for a revamp of the tour in 2026. Commissioner Kiffmeyer will have a flyer to hand out at the Prairie Festival promoting the cemetery tour and will work with Heidi to get the tour information posted on Facebook. OHPC discussed having registrations open but not required to try to gauge attendance. Commissioner Kiffmeyer will put together a plan in case a large quantity of residents show up. 4.2. Old City Hall Commissioners Seroshek and Stinski will follow up with this on a later date. 4.3 Time Capsule Commissioner Nault contacted Heidi who printed the Time Capsule graphics for the voting box as well as a large poster foam board to display at the festival. OHPC discussed using one of the easels to hold the poster foam board at the festival. Commissioner Nault will bring notecards for the voting box suggestions and post it notes for people to comment on future advancement ideas they would like to see happen in Otsego and will add these to the timeline graphic. Commissioner Wilson donated a steel cylindrical storage canister / mortar tube for use as the time capsule. Commissioner Stinski will store it until the next meeting. 4.4 1914 Barn Commissioner Penick will bring his computer / thumb drive at the next meeting for OHPC to choose the photos to be added for the new sign. 4.5 2025 Prairie Festival/35 years celebration discussion Morning and afternoon shirts were determined as follows: Commissioners Wilson, Kiffmeyer, Stinski and Waldron will take care of set-up / the morning shift from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. The afternoon shift from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. will be Commissioners Penick, Nault and Seroshek. Commissioner Wilson requested that the timeline and canvas backdrop is rolled up at the end of the event. Commissioner Seroshek created a list of OHPC Prairie Festival items that are needed including two easels; two tables; four chairs; tent; framed map; voter box; canvas backdrop and timeline, plastic tote and paper bag with candy. Commissioner Stinski will make sure it is given to Nick. Commissioner Wilson will bring a stepping stool and Commissioner Nault will drop off notecards and post-it notes that morning. 5. Updates: 5.1 Updates on City Council actions. CM Tanner updated OHPC on City Council action items. 5.2 Updates on Heritage Preservation items. Commissioner Seroshek requested that the winter break schedule is added to the next agenda. 6. Adjourn. Commissioner Seroshek motioned to adjourn the meeting at 6:50 PM, seconded by Commissioner Penick. All in favor. Motion carried 7-0. Minutes prepared by Commissioner Nault.
