BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
CenterPoint Energy has awarded the City of Otsego a $2,500 Community Safety Grant through their annual
Community Partnership Grant Program. This grant is designated specifically to support public safety efforts in the
communities they serve.
The City of Otsego Fire & Emergency Services Department identified the need to equip new and existing emergency
response vehicles with mobile radios to improve communication, coordination, and responder safety. Effective radio
communication is a foundational component of modern emergency services and is especially important during multi-
agency or large-scale response efforts.
The funds will be used to help purchase and install mobile radios compatible with the emergency services radio
infrastructure currently being developed.

RESOLUTION NO: 2025-35
ACCEPTING A DONATION FROM
CENTERPOINT ENERGY
WHEREAS, CenterPoint Energy has awarded the City of Otsego a Community Safety Grant in the amount of $2,500; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds are designated to support the installation of mobile radios in emergency response vehicles
operated by the City of Otsego; and
WHEREAS, effective and reliable communication is essential to ensuring the safety and coordination of emergency
personnel during response efforts; and
WHEREAS, the City of Otsego sincerely thanks CenterPoint Energy for their generous donation and for their support of public
safety in the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OTSEGO, MINNESOTA:
1. That the donation from CenterPoint Energy in the amount of $2,500 has been hereby accepted and will be used to
support the purchase and installation of mobile radios in emergency response vehicles to enhance emergency
response communications.
