Department Responsibilities
•Oversee and manage the network infrastructure
•Ensure security of data
•Implement new technologies
•Coordinate the purchase, installation, and support of hardware and software
•Maintaining and enforcing the Information Technology Policy
•Provide support to staff
•Patch/Update all major CVSS vulnerabilities on the network
•Manage all city security systems
•Coordinate strategic plans with other departments
•Ensure city systems are updated and operational
•Coordinate and conduct various trainings
•Secure all city devices and networks
2025 Summary
•Implemented new email spam filter
•Geo-blocked emails from high threat countries
•Implemented new doors & camera system
•Deployed out 21 new computers and decommissioned the old equipment
•Quarterly phishing trainings/test attacks
•Received and completed 108 IT tickets since Jan 1, 2025
•Hired and trained IT intern - Kelly
•Migrated all users over to a domain profile
•Completed FortiGate Firewall technician certificate
•Completed total redesign of the network architecture
•Furnished the West WWTF project with IT equipment
•Spectrum fiber project to each building will be live early –
mid September
Strategic Plan Alignment
Positioning for Growth:
-Implementing new security guidelines and functions.
-Staying current with cybersecurity threats and technology updates.
-Creating an incident response plan.
Engaging Stakeholders:
-Provide a bi-annual update in the newsletter with current Cyber news.
-Utilize effective technology and software to secure data for public.
Empowering the Organization:
-Further develop IT trainings.
-Coordinate with departments on ways we can utilize technology to streamline daily functions.
