RECOMMENDATION:
City staff are recommending the City Council adopt a resolution revising appointed Advisory Commission members.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
City staff sadly received notice of the passing of Public Safety Commissioner John Braun on July 3rd. Mr. Braun has
served on the commission since August of 2017.
City Staff are recommending the City Council appoint Rossamon Becker, who is currently appointed to the alternate
seat on the Public Safety Commission. Mr. Becker’s appointed term will remain unchanged, to expire on February 28,
2029.

REVISIONS TO APPOINTED COMMISSIONERS OF THE
PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the City has established a Public Safety Advisory Commission; and
WHEREAS, Public Safety Commissioner John Braun sadly passed away on July 3, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Public Safety Commissioner John Braun has served on the Advisory Commission since August of 2017.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OTSEGO, MINNESOTA
1. That the following removal and appointment are hereby made to the Public Safety Advisory
Commission:
▪ John Braun removed for the term expiring February 28, 2026.
▪ Rossamon Becker appointed to full member for the term expiring February 28, 2029.
ADOPTED by the Otsego City Council this 14th day of July, 2025.
