AGENDA ITEM DETAILS RECOMMENDATION: City staff is recommending the City Council adopt a resolution declaring surplus property and authorizing sale. ARE YOU SEEKING APPROVAL OF A CONTRACT? No No BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION: The Utilities Department has successfully procured replacements for a 2006 Chevrolet 2500 Pickup (PW6) and a 2000 Olympian Portable Generator (PW77). These items have met useful life expectancies and no longer serve a use. The Parks and Recreation Department no longer has a use for a Kifco Hose Reel Model B-140. City staff is recommending the equipment be declared as surplus property and that the equipment is sold via auction. BUDGET INFORMATION FUNDING: BUDGETED: N/A N/A 1 CITY OF OTSEGO COUNTY OF WRIGHT STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO: 2024-62 DECLARING CITY PROPERTY AS SURPLUS PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING SALE WHEREAS, the City has determined that the following items no longer serve any useful City function 2006 Chevrolet 2500 Pickup (PW6) 2000 Olympian Portable Generator (PW77) Kifco Hose Reel Model B-140; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute §471.345, subd. 17 outlines a municipality may contract to sell surplus property using an electronic selling process in which purchasers compete to purchase the surplus property at the highest price in an open and interactive environment; and WHEREAS, the City Council has met to discuss and review the surplus property. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OTSEGO, MINNESOTA: 1. That the items listed above are hereby declared surplus City property. 2. That City staff are hereby authorized to proceed with the disposition of the property in accordance with Minnesota Statute. ADOPTED by the Otsego City Council this 26th day of August, 2024.
