City staff is recommending that the City Council approve the hiring for the Deputy Clerk position.

BACKGROUND/JUSTIFICATION:
City staff is recommending the hiring of Katie Kalland for the Deputy Clerk position in the Administration
Department. This is an existing position and was vacant because of a staff resignation. The Deputy Clerk
position went through a full recruitment process and received 22 applications in total, and interviews
conducted of 5 individuals. The interview panel recommends Katie Kalland for the position.
She has successfully passed the required background and reference inquiry. Staff is recommending that
she be hired at a Pay Grade 6, Step 1; and Paid Time Off at the accrual of one year of service. It is expected
that Katie would start on Monday, June 12.
